Kid Friendly Smoothie Recipe

It is our responsibility as parents to make sure our kiddos have the things they need to be healthy and safe. That can be really hard when they are going through a growth spurt or developmental change!

Our family loves this easy and healthy recipe for when we need a filling meal fast, or when we’re dealing with a picky eating phase. It’s packed with nutrients and is a great way to use up leftover fruit.

Our little one loves to drink these from this special smoothie cup. I must admit I adore the “special cup” as well for its durability, spill prevention and portability. Cleaning spilled smoothie off the floor doesn’t sound like fun to me.

I developed this recipe using ingredients recommended to my family by our health practitioners and we have found this works well for us. Please consult your trusted healthcare professional before trying any new supplements or ingredients.

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz water, milk or liquid of your choice (we love to use tart cherry juice in the evenings before bed)
  • 1/2 frozen banana or 1/2 cup ice cubes
  • 1/2 cup frozen fruit of choice
  • 1/2 scoop Organifi Green Juice or Super Greens
  • 1/2 Scoop Vanilla Protein Powder (we love Four Sigmatic or Garden of Life
  • 1-2 tb peanut butter or peanut butter powder, if you’d like to add some extra calories and healthy fats

Combine all ingredients in a blender and process until smooth.

How to use leftovers:

  • Freeze into a popsicle mold for an outdoor snack or bath time treat!
  • Freeze into a dinosaur or heart shaped ice cube tray and add frozen cubes to yogurt or oatmeal.
  • Enjoy the leftovers yourself!

I hope you enjoy this smoothie and that it helps you fill in some gaps
